About

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a deep love for flamingos. It all began in the 1960s and 1970s, when my parents would take me to Florida. I can still remember browsing souvenir shops, always drawn to anything with a flamingo on it. What started as a childhood fascination quietly stayed with me through the years.

That passion took on new life in 2018 during another trip to Florida. This time, it wasn’t about souvenirs—it was about seeing live flamingos in person. Watching them up close changed something in me. I realized my love for flamingos was about more than décor or collectibles. It was about connection, joy, and something bigger waiting to be created.

Like many flamingo lovers, I assumed I was alone in my enthusiasm. I couldn’t have been more wrong. After doing a bit of research, I discovered and joined several flamingo-focused Facebook groups filled with people just as passionate as I was—some with over 18,000 members sharing stories, photos, and their love for these iconic birds.

The Story Continued….

In 2019, I decided to combine two of my biggest passions—flamingos and event planning—and created the very first Flamingo Fanatics Fling. In September 2021, in the middle of a world still recovering from a pandemic, something truly magical happened. Seventy Flamingo Fanatics from across the United States gathered in Las Vegas to meet in person, share laughter, and celebrate their shared love of flamingos. Lifelong friendships were formed, and many attendees told me it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience—one that made a real difference in their lives.

That event is where the phrase “Sprinkle a Little Pink” was born.

It was then that I knew this community could be a platform for something greater. If a shared love of flamingos could bring people together like this, imagine what could happen if that joy was used to help others. Our mission evolved into creating meaningful connections while supporting causes that make the world a better place—all while having fun along the way.

In May of 2021, I filed for nonprofit status. While we continue to grow and evolve, our focus remains clear: helping charitable organizations succeed by raising awareness and funding for their causes. Whether it’s adopting a flamingo through a zoo program or organizing a local “flock” to support ovarian cancer awareness, Flamingo Fanatics Society is about turning passion into purpose.

Thank you for stopping by and learning more about the Flamingo Fanatics Society. We are so much more than a group of “crazy flamingo ladies” collecting pink treasures—we are a community built on joy, friendship, and the belief that even a little pink can make a big difference.
